Smart Museum of Art Planning Study

Architrave was engaged to complete a planning study that would explore and document the short, medium and long term capital project needs of the Smart Museum. Over the course of the study, Architrave lead detailed space programming exercises that engaged staff representing the full range of the Smart’s operations and activities. Additionally, Architrave and TRC completed a detailed Facilities Assessment that examined the condition and code conformance of the existing building.

Upon completion of programming, Architrave in conjunction with UC and Smart Museum leadership worked to prioritize improvements, sorting the programmatic elements into three distinct, additive schemes termed Small Medium and Large, offering the Smart the ability to phase in improvements over the course of several years.
